Cinderblock

The record came out on Tuesday, but I guess no one was told. We got 10,000 of them pressed, but not a single copy sold. Well, now the label's callin' me on the phone and I'm trying to explain. Now I need something oh-so-bad that's gonna take away this pain. So I'm going to take a friendly cinderblock to the top of a bridge, and I'm gonna laugh, laugh, laugh, laugh, laugh as I toss it in.
For a little needed relaxation, more like an extended vacation... only this one's a little bit more permanent. I see the city, I watch the seagulls flying high, and as the water rises above my head I'm gonna wave goodbye.
*glug, glug, glug*
I took the river to the ocean, now I sleep on the sea floor. Sprawled out on a bed of seaweed just below the ocean's roar. Tell my friends all that I miss them, have my letters forwarded because right now I'm with the fishes, and I'm deader than a squid.

Wear a Raincoat

Well I've been making lots of plans and I've been shaking lots of hands. Well I've been drumming on this desk with my pen, but that's no means to an end... to an end? When you wait for the sun to come up, so that you can watch it set again. When you've been laying in the sand, and staring up at your own face. I've been screaming, alone in this room. No one is around. They told me to wear a raincoat before I catch a cold. Wear a raincoat?

Lemons

Well I'll wait for the reports to come in, but I think we've lost one more. It isn't cancer that's killin' them off, it must be another source. Like the asshole living in my brain, he's mean and old and sore. I'm not sure how he got this way or what he's compensating for. It must have been that little black rain cloud hanging just above his head always coming out when things were looking good, leaving him alone and wet. Now I don't know how to fix him, or what he expects of me, but I think I must do something now because he's crying in his sleep... and it's keeping me awake. Just when I thought that life couldn't get anymore bitter- I've been receiving lemons in the mail with my letters. I may never catch scurvy, but I can't make lemonade, 'cause all the sweet stuff that was in me has been used up and it's gone away. Now I sit here in the darkness trying 'oh-so-hard' to laugh. Where once I had best friends I am left with photographs. Well, I'd like to have them back now, maybe just 1, 2, or 3. But it's too late, that's all she wrote, there's nothing more to see. Just when I thought that life couldn't get anymore bitter- I've been receiving lemons in the mail with my letters. I may never catch scurvy, but I can't make lemonade 'cause all the bad stuff that is in me is the only thing that's stayed. Here we go.
